Finlay and its five German dealers hosted two open days at Johann Rathei in Großmehring, Bavaria, on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th September 2022. On display was a diverse line-up of six working machines that impressed visitors with their capability in quarrying and concrete recycling applications.

The full roster of machines included the Finlay J-960 jaw crusher, IC-110RS and I-120RS impact crushers, 870 scalper and TC-65 conveyor. The line-up was completed by the first hybrid 696 2-deck inclined screener imported to Germany by our dealer BAU-Sueddeutsche Baumaschinen.

The demonstrations were tailored to familiarize both new and established European dealers and customers with the versatility and productivity of Finlay products in recycling and quarrying applications.

The highly successful event attracted scores of German and European visitors from as far afield as Estonia, who enjoyed tours and the opportunity to inspect and view the equipment at work while taking the opportunity to ask questions and talk directly with Finlay experts.

Neil McIlwaine, Finlay Sales Director, said: “It was a huge pleasure to welcome customers to the first Finlay open days event in over three years. Innovation and new product development are at the heart of the Finlay mission and vision. Since our last European open event, we have launched multiple new machines to our portfolio. It was good to showcase the recently launched IC-110RS impact crusher and 870 scalper to customers who hadn’t seen them work before. It was also really pleasing to witness the reaction to our 696 inclined screener. This machine has been well received on the global market, and this was the first to arrive in Germany. The unit was fitted with a hybrid power pack, and customers were impressed with the productivity and throughput of the machine."

Frank Prestel, Manager Material Processing Competence Center, BAU, said: “We were delighted to partner with Finlay and the other German dealers for this event. The ability to demonstrate machines in two different applications was a real draw for our customers, and it was fantastic to see people from right across Germany travel to the event and take the opportunity to speak and engage with the factory personnel. I’m pleased to say the event resulted in sales and generated many queries and leads from the visitors, and we plan to repeat the event in the coming years.”

Brian Pauley, Finlay Marketing Manager, said: “A special note of appreciation to our host Wolfgang Rathei and all the team at Johann Rathei for welcoming us onto and giving us access to such an amazing site. Their contribution is warmly appreciated and played a significant part to the success of our event. A huge well done to the Finlay team members who worked hard on this event, particularly to the Finlay and BAU- Sueddeutsche Baumaschinen service teams who prepared the site and machines perfectly to put on world-class machine demonstrations.”
