Arab Union for Cement and Building Materials partners on CarbonZero conference

The Arab Union for Cement and Building Materials (AUCBM) has been announced as an official partner for the upcoming CarbonZero Global Conference and Exhibition.

The conference - titled Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials for Cement and Construction - takes place on October 26 and 27 in Lyon, France. 

AUCBM is an inter-Arab International organisation, affiliated to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and it was founded in 1977. Its headquarters are in Damascus, Syria. In 2016, AUCBM established a Regional Office in Amman, Jordan.

The Union aims principally at developing and supporting technical, industrial and commercial relations; coordinating industrial activities amongst its members in the field of cement and building materials; and participating in suggesting general grounds for developing these industries in Arab countries in order to achieve technical and economic integration among Arab countries through practicing its tasks and responsibilities.

The AUCBM members of cement and building materials companies, establishments and research centres count 115 institutions from 18 Arab countries.

The AUCBM has a wide range of cooperative relations with Arab and international bodies and organisations, as well as international research centres. This cooperation takes the form of exchange of information, participation in meetings, holding joint courses and conferences, as well as conducting studies and projects. The AUCBM has its own legal identity and competence to pursue its activities and fulfill its objective.
