Cemex invests in new silos at its Morata de Jalo'n plant in Spain

Spanish upgrade for Cemex

Cemex has announced the completion of its €5million investment programme at its cement plant in Morata de Jalo’n near Zaragoza, Spain. Through the upgrade, the factory now has two new cement silos with a storage capacity of over 11,000tonnes, which Cemex has said will improve the efficiency of the site.

According to Cemex, the new silos will also improve the environmental operation of the site by hermetically sealing the production process and preventing any cement dust escape. The silos measure 15.5m in diameter and 38m in height, and each has a capacity to transfer 250 to 350tonnes of cement per hour.

The company has said that this recent upgrade follows on from €60million of investments in operations in the region over the last six years. Cemex is also investing in neighbouring Andorra, where the company is in the process on building a new integral cement plant which is expected to be operational during the first half of next year.
