Lafarge Cement donates lime to restore a Wiltshire white horse

Lafarge helps with horse makeover

Some of Lafarge Cement’s hydrated lime has been used for an unusual application – to restore a landmark on the UK landscape. The company has donated the material to restore the Broad Hinton White Hose in Wiltshire to its former glory.

The 170 year old landmark had turned grey from the effects of the weather and pollution but 40 bags of Hydralime have been used to re-whiten the horse. Previous attempts to restore the horse using chalk but the results did not last long.
