Italy-based Buzzi Unicem is hoping to improve public perception of the cement industry by hosting a week long series of open days at three of its 13 plants in Italy. Between 10 and 18 May the plants at Robilante, Vernasca and Augusta will be open to visitors in events designed to give a “live” show of how cement is produced.
During the visit, technical experts and engineers will be available to provide information about the production process and related issues, such as environmental safeguard, work safety and impact on local community.
“Plant Open Week represents an opportunity to improve the dialogue with the communities that have agreed to host our plants. As a company, we always strive to improve our production technology and to limit the impact that cement production has on the environment, without neglecting work safety and the quality of our products,” said Buzzi Unicem CEO Michele Buzzi.
