Pump manufacturer Atlas Copco has acquired German Industrie Pumpen Vertriebs (IPV), a distributor of industrial pumps for the Varisco brand.

IPV is based in Dresden, Germany and its main market is in the chemical industry. The company had revenues of approximately €5m (SEK50m) in 2017 and has around 20 employees. The purchase price of the acquisition has not been disclosed.

The acquired business will become part of Germany-based Atlas Copco’s power and flow division in the power technique business area and legally be part of the Atlas Copco German holding company, Atlas Copco Holding GmbH.

“The industrial segment is key for us in order to further grow our pumps business,” said Andrew Walker, Atlas Copco business area president, power technique. “The acquisition will strengthen our presence in the north west of Europe.”
