BL&D Plant Hire & Sales is based in Zambian capital Lusaka
Zambia-based BL&D Plant Hire & Sales has joined the global network of distributors for screening and crushing equipment company McCloskey International.
BL&D Plant Hire & Sales serves the Zambia and Zimbabwe markets. It has expertise in exploration, mineral exposure establishment and rehabilitation services/support.
The company employs 200 staff at its headquarters in Lusaka. It supplies the Zambian market with construction equipment through Hyundai dealership HHEZ, and with plant hire Services through BL&D Plant Hire.
Jeremy Badcock, director at BL&D Plant Hire & Sales, commented on Zambian market conditions: "After a temporary decline, rising prices have reawakened mining. With this favourable environment, foreign direct investments are adding an additional boost across industries. Zambia has substantial mining reserves, which will contribute to our economic growth in the coming years.”
BL&D has a diverse portfolio of private and public sector customers in mining, aggregates, road building and infrastructure, land clearing and agriculture, and material handling and processing. BL&D will also serve these industries in Zimbabwe.
Paschal McCloskey, president and CEO of McCloskey International, says the rugged nature of his company's product range makes it well suited to the African market: "We established the company in Canada where machines are expected to withstand extreme temperatures in vastly remote areas. As a result, they have been designed to be reliable, operator friendly and easy to maintain. These are the same features that African-based operations will be looking for in their machinery.”
