Loader benefits for Earsham

First published02/04/2012
Production at family-owned Earsham Gravels in Norfolk, UK has been boosted with the delivery of two new Volvo wheeled loaders to join the existing fleet of Volvo machines.

“They are not the cheapest on the market, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for and we know where we stand with Volvo,” said Earsham proprietor Jim Bennett. “We are also very conscious of our carbon footprint in the locality both on emissions and noise pollution and again we believe the Volvo product goes that extra mile in reducing both.”

The smaller L90F will be deployed in the main stock yard and has been equipped with a specially modified 2.7m³ straight edged bucket designed to handle material in and out of fairly narrow bins. The larger L120F is equipped with a 3.5m³ straight edged bucket with teeth and will be deployed on the primary extraction of sand and gravel as well as dry screening duties. Both machines are fitted with optional boom suspension systems to facilitate smooth load and carry and good bucket retention of material; automatic lubrication systems and RDS Technology weighing devices.
