New name for UK Hitachi construction machinery dealer
Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe)/(HCME) has announced that its UK dealer has been renamed Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) Ltd. Formerly known as HM Plant, and based in Hebburn, Tyne and Wear, north-east England, the company’s new identity is now in force.
HCME president and CEO Moriaki Kadoya says: “We welcome the new name of our UK dealer, which has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of HCME since April 2007. The change to Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) highlights the strong connection between the two companies and emphasises the prominence of the Hitachi brand. HCME is currently planning to reinforce its position in the UK’s quarrying and mining industry, and we believe that the new name will help to promote Hitachi’s values of quality, reliability and durability.”
The CEO of Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK), John Jones, comments: “As the UK’s leading excavator supplier, the move to change name makes perfect sense and follows on from another excellent year of trading, which has seen our annual turnover grow by over 30%. Our overall objective is to further grow our market share in the UK as a whole over the next three years.
“Our success to date has been built on supplying reliable, highly productive Hitachi excavators, with a low total cost of ownership, along with unrivalled support and customer service. This will, of course, also be the Case under the name of Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK).”
Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) will continue to supply the complete range of Hitachi construction equipment, including mini, medium, large and wheeled excavators, wheel loaders and dump trucks. It will offer parts, servicing and 24-hour support seven days a week from its 11 depots in the UK and appointed sub-dealers in Ireland.
