BaselCement upgrade in 2012

Russia-based Basel plans to start the €319.18million upgrade of its BasilCement plant in Pikalevo, near St Petersburg, in 2012.
As part of the upgrade, the company is planning to switch to a dry method of caking nepheline concentrate, which will allow the firm to cut energy consumption and production costs. The whole project is expected to finish in five years.
