A Sennebogen 835 E-series material handler is used by LZR in Kitzingen to handle sand and gravel
The founding of sand and gravel excavating company Lenz & Co in 1906 laid the cornerstone for today's LZR (Lenz Ziegler Reifenscheid) in Kitzingen, Bavaria, Germany.
Today, the family-owned company supplies ready-mixed concrete, and is also active in demolition and waste disposal.
Now, a Sennebogen 835 E-series rig operates at the Kitzingen site on the Main River, where it is used to unload some 800tonnes of sand and gravel/day from incoming ships and transfer the material to the facilities on site.
Equipped for a reach of 18m and with a 2,000litre double-shell grab, operator Uwe Marx’s new Sennebogen 835 E material handler dredges the raw gravel from the hulls or directly feeds the processing units of the concrete mixing plant.
For an optimal view of the work area and all the way down into the hulls, the 835 E was specified with an elevating and extendable cab.
This additional benefit in work safety and comfort was one of the decisive factors when looking for a new material handler, says Christian Zimmermann, workshop manager. He also praised Schlüter Baumaschinen, which provides service and assistance.
By customer request, the Sennebogen 835 E was painted in the LZR company colours to match its yellow-blue environment.
The machine is equipped with a 224kW diesel engine complying with Tier 4 Final emission control requirements.
