ACC cement sales up 7.3% in March

Indian cement company ACC, in which Holcim holds a majority stake, sold 2.34 million tonnes of cement in March this year, an increase of 7.3% over the same month last year.
The company had sold 2.18 million tonnes cement in March 2011.
ACC produced 2.3 million tonnes cement in March against 2.19 million tonnes a year ago.
In the first quarter of this year, ACC posted sales of 6.72 million tonnes compared to 6.22 million tonnes in the same period last year.
The production during this period stood at 6.7 million tonnes against 6.2 million tonnes in the year-ago period.
