Portuguese cement company Cimpor has appointed Ricardo Lima as its new chief executive.

Lima is taking over from Francisco Lacerda and after leaving his position as vice-president of InterCement (Camargo Correa). The appointment comes after Camargo Correa assumed control of Cimpor. The Brazilian industrial group is also keeping seven of Cimpor's administrators and nominating eight new members.

Furthermore, Cimpor has scheduled an extraordinary general assembly for 16 July, 2012, when it will elect its new board of directors, among others. Cimpor's new shareholders will also be able to restructure and alter their contracts.
