Marinetek's Latvian concrete plant

Finnish marina developer Marinetek has opened a concrete pontoon plant in Olaine, Latvia.

The company says Latvia's location is good from the perspective of logistics, and the country has a skilled workforce and low production costs.

According to Ilkka Seppälä, who heads Marinetek, the company needed more production capacity as markets, particularly in Poland, Denmark, and Lithuania, have grown faster than estimated.

Seppälä says production will soon begin also in China and Romania.
