Plans are well in hand for the construction of the 3D printed excavator that will be unveiled at the at CONEXPO-CON/AG & IFPE exhibition in March 2017. Those behind the project will be participating in an Ask Me Anything (AMA) event on Reddit on Thursday Nov 10th, 2016. Two of the key team members of the project to construct the 3D-printed excavator will field questions from the Reddit community. They are, Lonnie Love, PhD and Cab design team representative and Andy Peterman, member of the student engineering team that won the national excavator cab design contest. The AMA will begin with an introductory post at approximately 10 am EST. Users will be able to ask their questions.

The conversation will happen on Reddit’s technology subreddit using the AEM_Tech handle.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE 2017 are teaming up to unveil the world’s first fully-functional 3D printed construction excavator and the first large-scale use of steel in 3D printing, known as additive manufacturing. The excavator will be on display at the joint trade shows in March 2017 and will bring to life how technology is transforming the construction. In addition to the pre-printed excavator, show attendees will be able to view a demonstration of the 3D printing technology. CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE 2017 will take place March 7th 11th, 2017 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.
