European construction equipment association CECE has met with UK government representatives to discuss the future relationship between the UK and the EU.

The discussions took place on February 18 with the United Kingdom Mission to the European Union (EU) and with a representative from the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

During the exploratory talks, CECE says it presented some of its priorities for the future partnership following Brexit, stressing the importance of free-trade and maintaining the level-playing field for manufacturers across the channel.

The first round of negotiations between the UK and the EU took place from March 2-5 and covered 11 areas including trade in goods and services, energy and transport.
