CEO Francis “Hall” Chaney, III, says: “This purchase compliments our current land holdings as we expand connecting our sand and gravel operations from Maryland to Delaware and throughout Virginia.  We look forward to serving the current customers of Virginia Sand & Stone while bringing our phenomenal, hard-working team members together.”

Virginia Sand & Stone, comprised of 220 acres in King and Queen County, was purchased in 2012 by CEO Tom Madden. Later, Madden made improvements to the sand and gravel mining operation to further expand in 350 additional acres and establish other construction related endeavours.

Chaney has been a neighbour of Virginia Sand & Stone for many years with land ownership in Mattaponi.

The sand and gravel mining operation in Newton will be its fourth sand and gravel facility in Virginia. It joins Moss Neck Sand and Gravel in Woodford, Charles City Sand and Gravel in Charles City, Stony Creek Sand and Gravel in Carson.
