Doosan's DX140LC-7 crawler excavator will be on show at ScotPlant 2022

They include UK premieres for the new DX140LC-7 14.6-tonne crawler excavator, the next generation of Doosan mini-excavators and the new DX100W-7 10.7 tonne wheeled excavator. Gordons will also show the DL420CVT-7 wheel loader and the DA30-7 articulated dump truck (ADT).

The DX140LC-7 is powered by the Doosan D34 4-cylinder Stage V diesel engine providing 86kW of power at 2000 RPM. The DX140LC-7 is part of Doosan’s new medium-sized ‘DX-7’ range of 17 Stage V crawler and wheeled excavator models from 14 to 25 tonnes. Altogether, the new medium-sized DX-7 models provide significantly higher performance in every area than the previous generation Stage IV machines.

They combine enhanced comfort, increased tool carrier capability and novel operator assist technology with new features to boost fuel efficiency, uptime and return on investment, focusing on increased power, robustness and agility. Maintenance of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) has also been greatly reduced.

Like all of the 11 models in the award-winning ‘DL-7’ range of wheeled loaders from Doosan, the DL420CVT-7 offers a next-generation design. It incorporates a powerful new Stage V engine and provides higher productivity, increased fuel efficiency, and a low cost of ownership. A new cab is said to offer a great environment and experience for the operator.

With an output of 240kW of power at 1800 RPM, the Scania DC09 engine in the DL420CVT-7 provides generous torque at low RPM. The engine meets Stage V emission regulations through selective catalyst reduction, diesel oxidation catalyst and DPF after-treatment technologies.

The DL420CVT-7 is equipped with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), resulting from a permanent combination of hydraulic technology and mechanical technology that provides a smooth and continuous speed variation. It allows the DL420CVT-7 to automatically transition from hydrostatic power at low speed to the mechanical system to operate at higher speeds.

The complete driving range, forwards and in reverse, is controlled by the CVT system. Low engine speeds ensure high efficiency and the highest driving comfort irrespective of the traction speed. The power splitting continuously variable technology facilitates moving off softly and hydraulically. Furthermore, with the CVT, a fuel saving of up to 15% can be achieved.

Completing the display on the Gordons stand will be the DA30-7 ADT, offering a payload of 28 tonnes. The DA30-7 is powered by the Scania Stage V compliant DC09 9-litre diesel engine providing 276kW of power.

The DA30-7 ADT has been upgraded with various features, including a new cab, a new self-levelling front suspension and a new tandem bogie system. The cab on the DA30-7 ADT has new comfortable hand grips/footrests and an improved layout for the display, which is easier to use even for tired eyes. The semi-levelling front suspension adjusts itself independently depending on the operating conditions to ensure a comfortable working environment.
