Operators should check the excavator's undercarriage to make sure it is free from debris

Firstly, check the levels of hydraulic oil, as well as the oil in the swing and travel gearboxes. Fill accordingly, and drain water from the water separator. In addition, look for weeping or damaged seals and replace as needed. Never reseal them. Clean the undercarriage to make sure it is free from debris and adjust the tension.

Check for loose track shoes and repair as needed, and check for oil leaks from the top and bottom rollers. Check the side clearance and contact the local Volvo dealer if needed. With the engine, check to see if any fuel has leaked. If so, contact the local Volvo dealer for assistance.

Even if you removed the battery over the winter, inspect the terminals and posts and clean as necessary. If removed, connect a charger. To protect the cab, where possible move the machine into a warm storage facility to thaw any ice. Remove snow with a broom or blow it off with compressed air. Do not scrape it off with a shovel may damage the paintwork.

Thoroughly clean the inside of the cab and replace the air filters. Volovo CE says this will help protect the machine’s electronics and make the space a more pleasant and comfortable operating environment. In terms of additional functions, heck that the lights, wipers, heater and air conditioning are all in working order, addressing repairs as needed.
