Compared to the Leeds auction in May 2018, the number of lots were up by 25%; the number of bidder accounts increased by 22; first time registrations were up by 33%; first time registered bidders who bought at the sale were up by 52%; and the total of first time buyers were up by 48%.

“We have been seeing increased interest in the Leeds sale from consignors and buyers over the last 12 months, who buy and sell with confidence from us. We feel the market is strengthening and the demand for quality pre-owned equipment has never been higher. We are also consistently able to get more lots on the Leeds auction site due to our current expansion plans and new infrastructure which is fast nearing completion” explains Jonnie Keys, Euro Auctions’ operations manager.

During the recent Leeds auction, over 550 excavators went over the ramp and under the hammer, including ‘mini diggers’, 6 tonne, 10 tonne and 20 tonne machines, again demonstrating the demand in the market, as well as the confidence of the consignor to send machines to Euro Auctions. Fast becoming known for its motor vehicles, this recent sale also close to 400 motor vehicles including cars and commercials go under the hammer on the first sale day.

Keys said: “Our loyal local and international customer base can be confident that Euro Auctions will always present good quality, low hours equipment and machinery. With so many buyers attending, consignors from all over Europe and even further afield, are always eager to submit lots, confident that they will realise good prices. This, coupled with the onsite expansion of the Leeds site, means we are increasingly able to display even more high-quality equipment at each sale, which contributes to this being confirmed as one of the biggest and most regular used equipment events in Europe.”
