5053 IronPlanet and Cat Auction Services have staged their inaugural European unreserved public auction including quality used 395 Caterpillar equipment.

Hosted by Finning, the groundbreaking event was staged at Rockingham Motor Speedway near Corby, in Northamptonshire, England, on Wednesday 20 April 2016.

Around 60% of bids for the large array of used Caterpillar from 3006 Finning equipment, as well as used equipment from a number of other leading OEMs including 633 JCB, 411 Doosan and 473 Volvo, came from online customers from across the world. There were also several hundred customers onsite from the UK and further afield bidding for equipment including crawler excavators, wheeled loaders, crawler dozers and articulated dump trucks.

Each unit up for grabs was backed by IronPlanet’s trademark IronClad Assurance equipment certification and inspection reports, which comprehensively detail and guarantee the condition of the machine to a potential buyer.

For Finning, the inaugural event presented the chance to support customers with fleet optimisation, which in turn allows the company to repurpose quality Caterpillar machines to new buyers.

Cat Auction Services became part of IronPlanet in April 2015. The Rockingham Motor Speedway public auction was the first in a series of quarterly unreserved public auctions across locations in Great Britain.
