8023 EPC-UK, a major company in the field of commercial explosives for industries including quarrying and mining, has reinforced its commitment to ensuring that improved customer service is at the forefront of the organisation, by promoting four team members to key customer facing positions.

Ryan Ward, commercial manager – Explosives, Services and Metrics; Charlotte Hegarty, customer service manager; John Morgan, area supervisor for Shropshire and Leicestershire; and Leanne Tuscher, transport manager, assumed their new roles on the 2nd January 2019, each having the ultimate objective of enhancing the customer experience.

Ward joined EPC-UK four years ago directly from Birmingham University, where he studied chemistry. He began his career as a laboratory technician, assisting with quality testing and research and development projects. In 2017 he became a commercial analyst, a position which allowed greater interaction with EPC-UK customers – a key consideration for Ward when applying for his new role.  This experience has provided Ward with the skills required for his new position as commercial manager – Explosives, Services and Metrics, in which he is responsible for the creation of contracts and tender documents, conducting price reviews and ensuring EPC-UK remains commercially competitive.

Charlotte Hegarty first joined EPC-UK as a Transport Administrator five years ago. Since the beginning of the year, she has assumed the role of customer service manager, taking sole responsibility for the management of the sales office.  From processing orders and invoicing, to coordinating drivers and arranging site visits, Hegarty ensures that the requirements of our customers are consistently met.

John Morgan began his career in the explosives industry thirty years ago, working his way up from excavator driver, to shotfirer, to blast designer. He then joined Blasting Services, part of the Exchem Group before it was rebranded EPC-UK, over twenty years ago. Morgan has now been promoted to the position of Area Supervisor for Shropshire and Leicestershire. His main responsibilities are to enhance customer satisfaction and ensure the safety of his team.

Leanne Tuscher joined EPC-UK in 2014 as a freight forwarding administrator at the company’s Bramble Island site. She then took on the role of transport coordinator, before being promoted to transport supervisor. Whilst working in this position, tuscher attained her International Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), an industry-recognised City & Guilds qualification which provides learners with the knowledge required to run a compliant and efficient transport operation. This qualification has proved invaluable to Leanne in her new position as transport manager, as she is responsible for ensuring all vehicles are road worthy and drivers are compliant with the latest rules and regulations.  Tuscher is also undertaking EPC-UK’s internal “Supervisor to Manager” course, which is arming her with the knowledge and skills required to become an effective manager.

Ben Williams, managing director of EPC-UK, explains why the company has made this move to strengthen its customer-facing team: “Our reputation for providing only the highest level of customer service is renowned within the industry.  However, we never take this for granted and are continually working to better ourselves and our processes.  These four new appointments will help us do just that.

“Ryan, Charlotte, John and Leanne will each play a vital role in providing our customers with the guidance, support and professionalism they have come to expect from EPC-UK and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all four on their promotions.”
