460 Sandvik has announced the launch of a new screening solution which it has said is designed to offer high levels of productivity and accuracy. Sandvik debuted a prototype of the QA331 screen at 427 Hillhead last year but the machine has been field tested and is now commercially available.

The new QA331 is a three-way split screen with a two bearing 4.27 by 1.52m screen box with a six degree angle built into the bottom screen, which Sandvik has said enhances the efficiency and capacity of the screen.

Safety and maintenance were prime considerations in the design process and the screen features a folding access walkway fitted as standard around the screen box to reduce the risk of slips or falls and to aid maintenance operations. Additionally, the hopper has a 7m³ capacity and comes complete with a radio controlled tipping reject grid as standard.

The I-beam chassis is mounted on 500mm wide tracks to cater for various ground conditions and are pendant track controlled for ease of mobility.
