Metso Outotec makes changes to executive team

Metso Outotec has made new appointments to its executive team following the departure Minerals business area president Stephan Kirsch, who is leaving the company for personal reasons.

Markku Teräsvasara has been nominated president of the Minerals business area with immediate effect. His previous role was president of the Metso Outotec Services business. He also continues as deputy CEO of the company.

Sami Takaluoma has been nominated president of the Services business, having previously been president of the Consumables business.

Heikki Metsälä has been appointed president of the Consumables business area. He previously he served as SVP, Mill & Chute lining business line in the Consumables business area management team.

”Both Markku and Sami have a strong track record from their previous roles, and I believe that under their leadership Metso Outotec’s integration will be completed successfully, and the Minerals and Services business areas will be further developed,” said Pekka Vauramo, president and CEO of Metso Outotec. "Heikki has extensive experience in our consumables business, and he has played an important role in its transformation into a successful, high value-adding business. I am confident that Heikki and the team will continue this development.
