Northern Ireland-based 447 Powerscreen has announced that it has appointed Allen Smith as mining business development manager. The company has said that Smith has over 20 years of experience in the mining industry as well as the quarrying sector.

"This is an important new appointment for the company," said Powerscreen global sales and marketing director Pat Brian. "Allen's experience and respect in the mining industry will be an asset to the Powerscreen strategy, which has been evolving into a clear direction focusing on serving specific market segments, namely aggregate production and mining as well as our more traditional contracting/ recycling/C&D segments.

"With the launch of our largest jaw crusher, the XA750, our new large XH500 impact crusher and 1500 1533 Maxtrak cone crusher, together with our new flagship Warrior 2400 screen, we're establishing a strong position in the mining segment.
