The company says it has made safety its priority and introduced measures to protect its staff which has preserved production levels.

BKT says it is currently receiving many messages from markets all over the world that are concerned about people’s health and safety.

It comments on the messages: "BKT wants to reassure all of them that, fortunately, BKT teams in India and around the world, are safe and giving their best to keep the business at the normal levels."

BKT says it recognised immediately the necessity to protect its staff and has swiftly introduced safety measures to avoid the spread of the virus in its production plants.

It adds this has ensured its five production plants in India have been running smoothly at an average 95% capacity.

Earlier this week Reuters reported that production of the iPhone 12 has fallen by over 50% at a Foxconn-owned factory in the southern state of Tamil Nadu after workers became infected with the coronavirus.
