Portugal-based Recauchutagem Ramôa, a partner of OTR (off the road) retread tyres provider 6214 Marangoni, has celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Founded on 31 August 1968, Recauchutagem Ramôa is based in Braga, 60 km from the city of Porto. It has nine sales outlets and deals with TBR (truck, bus and radial) tyre retreading, using Marangoni’s RINGTREAD system technology.

To mark its half-century Recauchutagem Ramôa held an event for its associated and partners on Saturday September 29, with more than 250 people attending including all 110 company employees.

Guests included Enrico Centi, area manager for Italy-based Marangoni Retreading Systems, who presented Recauchutagem Ramôa founder Manuel Ramôa with a commemorative plaque signed by chairman Vittorio Marangoni.

Ramôa commented: "In a competitive, constantly evolving industry such as that of truck and bus tyres, it is only through excellence, commitment and teamwork that we can maintain the competitive advantage of our companies, thereby creating value for the transport fleets. Drawing on its experience, the support of a dedicated partner such as Marangoni and the quality of its materials for retreading, Recauchutagem Ramôa is now ready to take on new challenges and lay the foundations for further future development."

In 2012 Recauchutagem Ramôa purchased a Marangoni Sfera 3000 inspection machine that uses shearography to ensure product integrity. In 2016, it incorporated a new Marangoni Eagle 2500 automatic buffing machine into its production process.
