He has developed his career in the industry in both operational and commercial roles, and most recently was business unit manager for Sika. Under his leadership, the company continued to grow its market share in concrete, while steering the business through the recent pandemic.

Sleight commented on his appointment: “I am delighted to be joining Aggregate Industries and look forward to helping the business navigate the challenges posed by a post-pandemic recovery. In a market that’s always changing and evolving, it’s never been more important to understand what customers need and ensure we deliver innovative and sustainable solutions that solve real life problems."

Dragan Maksimovic, chief executive officer for Aggregate Industries, said: “With his far-reaching experience, I’m confident Lee will be a real asset to the Executive Committee, and the wider business.”

Sleight succeeds Barry Hope, who will remain on Aggregate Industries’ executive team managing strategic projects in his new role as business development director. Hope has been with the business for 10 years and has been previously MD of the cement division.
