The conveyor has been built on a mountain using a suspended cableway, and provides a connection between a quarry (crushing unit) and the cement plant. The conveyor belt has a width of 1,000mm with a nominal capacity per hour of 1,200 tonnes of limestone. A 55m long and 1,200mm wide belt connects the crushing unit at the quarry to the longer belt and 2 de-dusting filters.

The main belt has a slope of about 220m, with a starting point upstream of 440m above sea level.

The construction follows an intense civil work phase, during which single trusses were preassembled and equipped with the mechanical comports. Bedeschi says that the site team is utilising the Trimble Connect collaboration data tool to facilitate the work. Bedeschi is designing, executing and delivering every component of the turn-key project.

The system is being installed and operated by the Bedeschi team with its partner SEIK.

Bedeschi says the advanced methodology it is using for the project allowed it to carry out construction to a tight schedule with limited impact on the local environment.
