UK-based specialist construction chemicals supplier Adcrete has appointed Luke Curran as head of sales for Ireland, based in County Cork.
He brings 15 years of experience across the readymix, asphalt, quarrying and admixture sectors, having built a strong career in technical, operational and commercial roles throughout his time in Ireland and over a decade in Australia.
Curran served as vice president of the Western Australia Committee for the Concrete Institute of Australia and was an active member of the Cement, Concrete and Aggregates Association (CCAA). Luke joins Adcrete to build on the company’s growth and continued success.
He said: “Adcrete is a strong and growing business operating in a competitive market and it’s great to join a company and a team who are so ambitious and focussed on continued growth through customer delivery, retention and expansion.
“Joining the company in its 10th year is a great opportunity to reintegrate into the Irish market, meet familiar faces from the past and build new relationships across Ireland.”
Adcrete, the official sister company of Oscrete in Northern Ireland and Ireland, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and has announced a significant investment from parent company Christeyns to further enhance service, product availability and technical support for its customers.
Luke’s extensive experience in the UK, Ireland and Australia will support existing and new Adcrete customers. He continued: “Working in Australia provided me with a whole new level of experience from working in extreme temperatures laying asphalt, managing mobile plant operations in the outback and building concrete and admixture businesses throughout Adelaide, Darwin & Perth.
“This experience will certainly help me in shaping further growth for Adcrete within the Irish market and while the temperatures are different in Ireland and Australia, wherever you are in the world, concrete is very similar!”
Adcrete’s recent investment work has doubled storage capacity and introduced a customer consultation space within the company’s new, on-site office facilities at the team’s Lisburn HQ. The upgrades allow Adcrete to hold increased stock levels, improving stock rotation, sharpen logistics and ensure consistent availability of core products for customers in the precast, ready-mix and mortar markets.
