Aggregate Industries, a major UK construction materials supplier and member of the LafargeHolcim Group, has acquired the Kendall Group, a leading aggregates and ready-mixed concrete manufacturer operating in the South of England.

The acquisition of the Kendall Group, which posted net sales of around £25 million in 2017, will allow Aggregate Industries to expand its operations in the South of England. The region where Kendall is active is expected to benefit from above national average growth, especially in the housing segment.

The purchase will also enable Aggregate Industries to enter the dredging business and secure a long-term position in this attractive market segment.

François Pétry, CEO of Aggregate Industries, said: “The Kendall Group perfectly complements our existing activities, both in the geography of its operations and its product offering.

The company has a great track record, employs great people and shares our dedication to providing our customers with high quality products and services.”

Richard Kendall, director of Kendall Group, said: “The Kendall Group has always been a family-run business. It was very important to us to find a company to take over Kendall’s who would take care of the both the business and the people we have nurtured for almost 100 years. I believe that we found this in Aggregate Industries and I look forward to watching the Kendall Group continue to flourish under their ownership.”
