Alpacem Group has officially added the Italian cement plant Fanna after being granted final approval by the relevant authorities.
The result of this deal will see the Alpacem team increase by more than 80 employees following the integration of the new sites, including the Fanna Cement plant.
“The integration of the Fanna cement plant and the concrete mixing plants strengthens our presence in Italy and the entire Alpe-Adria region and enables us to expand our business activities on the market and grow as the Alpacem Group,” Alpacem managing director Bernhard Auer said.
The Fanna cement plant has become the third fully integrated cement plant within the Alpacem Group. It joins the group’s existing plants in Wietersdorf, Austria, and Anhovo, Slovenia.
The Fanna cement plant was built in 1974 before work was undertaken to modernise it in 2003-04. The cement plant has an annual clinker capacity of 660,000 tonnes with raw materials being extracted from the three quarries belonging to the plant.
“At the same time, we are creating valuable synergies between our sites in order to continue producing innovative cements and concretes in the future. We are also delighted to welcome our new employees to our team,” Alpacem managing director Lutz Weber said.
