Bauma attendees showed that there are very unique needs within the asphalt production business that Ammann can support.
Visitors to the Ammann stand at bauma 2025 showed a great deal of interest in very different asphalt-mixing plants.
There were many inquiries about Ammann’s premium product, the Ammann ABP HRT (High Recycling Technology) Asphalt-Mixing Plant. The stationary plant is known for its advanced technology, mix quality and efficiency.
Receiving just as much interest at bauma 2025 was the Ammann ACM Prime 2.0 Asphalt-Mixing Plant.
The hallmark of Prime, as it is known, is mobility—specifically, the production of a high-quality mix in a continuous, mobile package.
“Here we had a stationary, premium batch plant being the focus of many visitors – and a continuous, mobile plant drawing considerable interest from other visitors,” Ammann product marketing manager Marzio Ferrini said.
“The global market has very diverse needs, and you could see that by watching the Ammann stand. There was much attention to these two very different products – and everything in between.”
Ammann ABP HRT (High Recycling Technology) Asphalt-Mixing Plant
This batch plant is a premium Ammann product, with advanced technologies working in harmony to incorporate up to 100 per cent RAP with extremely low energy consumption and emissions.
The double-drum system that was displayed combines a virgin aggregate drum with either an RAH60 or RAH100 recycling drum. Indirect, gentle heating of RAP with hot gases causes bitumen aging and emissions. Heat distribution is more homogenous, too, which prevents sticking, as does the vertical flow.
The plant lessens sound and dust emissions, diminishing its environmental impact and helping it blend into urban settings. Key ABP HRT components (e.g., cold feeders, drying drum and filter, and more) can be enclosed. This creates the appearance of an attractive office building, helping it integrate into urban settings.
The HRT is engineered to seamlessly integrate new, future technologies.
ACM Prime 2.0 Asphalt-Mixing Plant
Mobility and a smart, continuous-flow process are hallmarks of this transport-optimised plant. The compact design ensures it fits on one or two trailers, making relocation easy and efficient, and in compliance with transport codes.
Components are tested at the factory, and most are pre-assembled on the chassis, which saves a great deal of time when the plant reaches its destination.
The separated drying, heating and mixing processes result in production flexibility and high mix quality. A unique controllable outlet gate allows the filling height (and therefore the mixing time) to be set based on the recipe and output.
The Prime 2.0 has a highly efficient burner that minimises fuel use while maximising production. It is able to produce up to 210 tonnes per hour and use up to 40 per cent RAP.
The Prime 2.0 and the ABP HRT appeal to asphalt producers on opposite ends of the spectrum.
“Manufacturers need to meet the needs of all these customers,” Ferrini said.
“It is not a case of building a plant and expecting the customer to adjust their needs to fit what we offer. We must build a plant, and keep it updated, so that it fits the customer’s needs.”
