The newly-appointed managing director of RDS Technology is Angela Simkins who has 25 years of general management experience and more recently has spent ten years in an electronic engineering environment supplying to both on-road and off-road sectors.
Being a chartered engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering means that she brings engineering expertise to the role combined with a strong Lean bias gained during her time acquiring a Master’s Degree in Lean Operations.
Simkins’ arrival at RDS coincides with a rapidly expanding market for off-road vehicle electronics.
“Following the acquisition of RDS by the US company Digistar in late 2012 and the expanded and expanding technology base, the company is now poised to further enhance its current leading position in this growth market, in both the agricultural and construction sectors,” she says.
Based in County Gloucestershire, England, RDS is a major supplier of hi-tech electronic monitoring and control systems to the mobile machinery industry both as an OEM supplier and through a network of specialist distributors. The company sells into 30 export markets.
