The 33rd edition of bauma - the world's leading trade fair for construction and mining machinery - got underway this morning (Monday, October 24) and is running until this Sunday (October 30) in the southern German city of Munich.
The event is held at the Trade Fair Center Messe München, where thousands of attendees are expected to visit indoor displays and outdoor demonstration areas. Being showcased will be the latest construction machinery, building material machines and mining machines, as well as all types of construction vehicles and equipment.
The German Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, Dr Volker Wissing, and Bavaria’s Minister President, Dr Markus Söder, together with the chief of Messe München, Stefan Rummel, were due to officially open bauma.
Later, Deputy Bavarian Minister President and Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, was due to tour the bauma showground, starting in Hall 3A.
More than 3,100 exhibitors from over 60 countries will be presenting their exhibits, innovations and trends across 614,000m² in the halls and outdoor areas – the same as roughly 86 football fields.
