The 2025 edition of bauma, the world’s largest exhibition for the construction, quarrying, mining and recycling equipment industries, was getting underway today at the Munich Exhibition Centre.
The show, which takes place from 7-13 April, will welcome at least 150 companies for the first time alongside returning OEM majors such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Wirtgen, Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe), Volvo Construction Equipment, Astec, and McLanahan.
This year’s event will see many product launches and all the latest machine and linked technology solutions for multi-industry stakeholders. It will also address five of the biggest issues facing the modern off-highway equipment industry: climate neutrality, networked construction, alternative drive concepts, the mining challenge, and sustainable construction.
The number of innovations being presented for the first time at bauma shows just how much movement there is in the industry and how committed manufacturers are to – often also ecological – further development. Wirtgen, for example, is presenting no fewer than 45 world premieres this year. Doka is bringing 30 new products, and its 30-metre-high scaffold tower is a real eye-catcher. 180 steps must be climbed to enjoy the view from the top. The tower comprises 12,340 components and weighs 67 tons in total. Thanks to the 113 square meter Sitelight LEDs, the tower is also easy to see
The bauma FORUM in the Innovation Hall bauma LAB0 will again be the core element of the supporting program 2025: Each day will be dedicated to one of the show’s five key topics.
The Start-up Area in Innovation Hall LAB0 focuses on innovative young companies presenting their latest solutions linked to exhibition themes.
Several universities and scientific institutes will update bauma visitors on the latest research status. Open stands and exhibits in action invite visitors to take a look and ask questions. In this way, research is brought to life and presented vividly, and the connection between research results and vocational training is demonstrated.
In the bauma FORUM, the universities will present their current projects focusing on bauma’s five key topics.
Speaking last month ahead of the exhibition, Messe München CEO Stefan Rummel. said: “bauma is more than just a world-leading trade fair. It is the heartbeat of the industry.
