Breedon has proudly announced that James Haluch, Managing Director of Breedon Surfacing Solutions and member of the Group’s Executive Committee, has been awarded a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in His Majesty’s 2025 Birthday Honours List, recognising his contribution to improving safety for highway workers.

The honour reflects James’ long-standing commitment to making roads safer, not only for the travelling public, but especially for those working every day on the UK’s highways. Throughout his career, James has collaborated closely with industry partners and frontline teams to integrate safer working practices and foster innovation across the sector.

Breedon remains committed to raising standards across its business and sector, with safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement at the heart of everything it does.

Commenting on the award, James Haluch said: “I am honoured and deeply humbled to receive this recognition for services to improving safety for highway workers. I’ve been fortunate to work alongside many dedicated colleagues, partners and frontline teams who share the same commitment to making our roads safer. I’m incredibly grateful to my mentors, professional network and colleagues at Breedon Group plc for their unwavering support and encouragement.”

Rob Wood, Chief Executive Officer at Breedon, added: “This is a well-deserved recognition for James and a reflection of the positive impact he’s had on our industry. His leadership, passion and focus on safety have driven meaningful change for the people working on our roads. We’re proud to have him on the Breedon team and congratulate him on this significant honour.”
