Brimstone has signed a letter of intent with a US producer to supply its planned Rock Refinery after an intensive search.

Brimstone evaluated 23,000 quarries in the US to supply its planned commercial-scale plant producing Portland cement and supplementary cementitious materials (SCM), as well as smelter-grade alumina. Alumina is the essential material for producing aluminium.

“Following a multi-year, comprehensive review of US quarries to supply the Brimstone Rock Refinery, we’re thrilled to take this step forward in Oklahoma with Dolese Bros. Co.,” Brimstone co-founder and chief executive officer Cody Finke said.

“Our quarry partner is key to where we site our commercial-scale facility—and, as a trusted industrial supplier with a long, proud tradition in Oklahoma, Dolese Bros. Co. offers exactly what we need to scale: reliable infrastructure, access to markets, developable plant sites, great talent, and of course, the rocks at the core of Brimstone’s process.”

Oklahoma’s Dolese Bros Co Has been successful after the search process. The company has a 123-year-history and has become one of Oklahoma’s largest producers of crushed stone and concrete.

“As one of Oklahoma’s oldest businesses, Dolese’s mission is deeply rooted in this community,” Dolese Bros. Co executive vice president and chief strategy officer Scott Brewer said.

“We look forward to partnering with Brimstone to provide the raw materials they need for their facility, creating more Oklahoma jobs, strengthening regional businesses, and helping transform heavy industry.”
