CDE, along with Fife Silica Sands, will showcase its innovative silica sand-washing technologies at a virtual tour event later this month.
CDE and Fife Silica Sands have worked together for fifteen years. Their latest venture involves designing and commissioning a 210tph silica sand wash plant in Burrowine Moor Quarry in the central lowlands of Scotland.
The glass industry is the largest end-user of silica sand production, and with rising demand for this material across industries such as construction and technology, Fife Silica Sands sought CDE’s expertise to address the growing market needs.
The plant, which has been operating for a year, has delivered over 570,000 tonnes of top-quality silica sand to customers across the UK and Ireland.
The upcoming virtual tour, taking place at 10am on Wednesday, March 26th, will explore Fife Silica Sands’ solution. It will detail how CDE has enabled the firm to produce consistent, high-quality products for a range of applications, including sports sands and construction aggregates, and, in turn, support the glass industry.
Join CDE’s Chris McKeown, product life cycle master and Thomas Patterson, technical lead engineer, for this insightful virtual tour and discover how Fife Silica Sands and CDE are collaborating to lead the way in the production of silica sands.
