County-Tyrone, Northern Ireland-based CDEnviro has been ranked in the top 20 on a national league table of Britain’s fastest-growing SME exporters.

The 2nd annual Sunday Times Heathrow SME Export Track 100 league ranks Britain’s private small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) with the fastest-growing international sales.

CDEnviro, which was listed at number 16, was one of two businesses from Northern Ireland to feature. Country Antrim-based Seven Technologies Group ranks at No 43 on the league table.

CDEnviro says it has grown its international sales by an average of 127% and demonstrated exponential expansion in the last 24 months.

The compay designs and manufactures a range of waste reduction and recycling equipment solutions for application in the sewage, waste water, waste management and utility industries.

Overseas customers include US multi-national Cargill, which uses its waste processing technology to clean soil at its tomato processing factory in Brazil.

CDE was formed in 1992 to service the environmental waste water sector in the UK and Ireland and the CDE group of companies now employs over 400 people across eight regions.

“This is the first year that we have featured on the Export Track League Table and this ranking is very welcome confirmation that our commitment to our export markets is paying off,” says Marc Jennings, general manager of CDEnviro.

“When we launched the company our first contract wins came in the UK market, working with major utility companies. We operated exclusively in the UK and Ireland markets until 2013 and introduced a number of new products to this market. We then sought to grow our global coverage and to date we have completed projects in Europe, Australia, North America and Latin America.

“Our philosophy is that zero waste is an achievable target and something that as a company, as an industry and as individuals we have a responsibility to achieve. We are always looking for new ways to turn today’s waste products into tomorrow’s assets. The opportunity that exists from the successful exploitation of what is now considered ‘waste’ is huge, and global, and we look forward to expanding our export reach in the coming years.”
