The CEA (Construction Equipment Association) has appointed David Waine as trade advocate, a voluntary role that will support the association’s work around international trade, supply chains and UK manufacturing.
Waine is MD of Con Mech Engineers, a UK-based manufacturing business supplying wear parts and ground engaging tools to the global construction equipment industry. With a career spanning senior commercial and leadership roles across UK steel and downstream manufacturing, he brings practical insight into international trade, supply chains and the realities facing UK manufacturers.
His appointment comes at a busy time for the CEA, as the association continues to expand its work on behalf of members across policy, skills, technical, trade, events and industry representation.

The CEA says Waine’s expertise will help strengthen its trade-related work, ensuring the views and practical experiences of UK manufacturers continue to be heard and reflected.
