The production of Celitement requires 50% of the energy needed for the production of conventional cement, and CO2 emissions are said to be lower, as the production takes place in lower temperatures.

The production of Celitement requires 50% of the energy needed for the production of conventional cement, and CO2 emissions are said to be lower, as the production takes place in lower temperatures.
The pilot production plant has a daily capacity of 100kg. By 2016 Celitement aims to refine the technology further and set up an industrial-scale production plant with a capacity of 50,000tonnes.
The material could be used in specialist applications such as tile adhesives, plaster and rendering.
