In 2011, cement production in the north-western federal district of Russia rose by 3.6% year-on-year to 3.6 million tonnes and corresponds to 6.4% of the total cement production in Russia. Over the period, the Leningrad region manufactured 5% of total cement production in Russia.

In 2011, cement production in the north-western federal district of Russia rose by 3.6% year-on-year to 3.6 million tonnes and corresponds to 6.4% of the total cement production in Russia.

Over the period, the Leningrad region manufactured 5% of total cement production in Russia.

According to experts, when LSR-Cement is launched it will have an impact on the market.

The capacity is expected to be 1.86 million tonnes, which will cover the deficit of the regional market, previously estimated by experts at about 1.4 million tonnes.

The start may have an impact on the cost of cement in 2012.

According to LSR-Cement, competition and a growth in imports are the main obstacles to an increase in cement prices in the region.

However, GS-Expert predicts a growth in the cost of cement in 2012 of no less than 20-25%.
