Cemex says that it expects to supply approximately 9,800m³ of ready-mix concrete for the reconstruction of Mezaparks Grand Open-Air Stage, an iconic venue in Riga, the Latvian capital, that hosts a wide variety of cultural and sporting events each year.

The reconstruction is the work of Latvian architectural firms J.Pogas birojs and Mailītis., which together envisioned the expansion of this emblematic building, first opened to the public in 1955.

Expected to be fully completed by 2021, this venue’s reconstruction expands the total area of the complex from approximately 91,000m² to 146,400m². Additionally, seating capacity will be increased to over 30,500 seats from 23,000 currently.

The audience field and extra platforms for choir singers of Mezaparks Grand Open-Air Stage is expected to enter service on 18 June 2018 and will host several of Latvia’s Centenary celebrations, also in 2018.

The second phase of the project, the construction of the new stage, will begin after the grand celebration of Latvia’s Centenary.

Cemex has already supplied approximately 9,650m³ of ready-mix concrete, used mainly for the construction of foundations, grids, walls, and a new ceiling for this complex.
