CEMEX is supplying Vertua concrete for the Reserva Santa Fe sustainable housing project, designed to create a positive relationship between people and the environment.

Located in the heart of the Otomí-Mexica natural area, a forest region between Mexico City and Toluca, the project will total 197 hectares. Once completed in 2030, it will have 500 homes organically integrated into the area’s ecosystem.

To meet its sustainability goals, the project considered its ecological impact, established the processes for obtaining recycled water, and selected high-tech concrete as a construction material capable of reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.

Ricardo Naya, president of CEMEX Mexico, endorsed the company’s commitment to continuously reduce the environmental impact through initiatives that reduce carbon emissions, energy consumption, and water usage to use natural resources efficiently.

“This real estate project is a reference to building a better Mexico. Managing natural resources responsibly, empowering communities, and using technological innovations such as the Vertua family of concretes and cements to fight climate change is an irrefutable example of how to face the challenges we face today. We are very proud to participate in such a work. Our purpose at CEMEX will always be to build a better future, and we know that future must be sustainable,” said Ricardo Naya.

CEMEX will supply 5,500m3 of Vertua concrete and 1,000m3 of recycled concrete. Using these elements would be equivalent to planting 13,228 trees or stopping 63,500 cars from circulating in one day.
