The Dove Holes Building Products facility in Derbyshire has been reopened following Cemex UK’s investment to modernise the plant.
Cemex UK carried out the investment in two phases, with phase one completed in February 2025 and phase two earlier this year. The initial phase included a void packing system to be introduced into the facility, which will reduce the number of timber pallets.
The Derbyshire-based plant underwent a shutdown for the second phase, which included installing new technology and machinery. This included a concrete press from Rekers and a SKAKO Concrete batching mixer, which will enhance Cemex UK’s production.
“We are delighted to have completed the investment in our Dove Holes Building Products Facility, which has seen the installation of new machinery and technologies,” Cemex UK materials managing director Lex Russell said.
“This vital investment will help future-proof operational activities at the plant by incorporating modern systems that enhance the health and safety of employees, make site processes more efficient, and support our wider commitment to sustainability.”
“These upgrades will also enable us to produce different-sized concrete blocks with increased performance features, while presenting us with the opportunity to expand our concrete solutions offering.”
