Cemex UK has announced that its aggregates division has achieved the new BS EN ISO 9001 quality management standard, which recognises the company’s commitment to continuous improvement in production procedures.According to Cemex vice president for aggregates and asphalt Lex Russell, this measure will enhance customers’ confidence in the high quality of the company’s products. “This certification is very important to us and I’m sure, to our customers,” he said. “They now have tangible evidence that all of our quarries supply high quality products and we endeavour to offer the highest quality service.” The standard was awarded by Construction Products Certification, a government approved audit organisation, following a series of visits to Cemex’s quarry sites in the last quarter of 2010.
