MinTrain reports that CLOCS (Construction Logistics & Community Safety) has reaccredited the Site Vehicle Competence Assessment (SVCA) Driver Skills Card as a recognised Competency Assessment for the third consecutive year, valid for twelve months.
“This is great news for MinTrain and our commitment to promoting safe and competent driving practices,” said a spokesperson for the UK-based innovative and award-winning training provider of expert training specifically designed for the quarrying, ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and associated minerals sectors.
Recently rebranded to the SVCA Driver & Plant Skills Card, the SVCA currently has six categories under the Driver Skills Card, including:
• Mixer
• Tipper
• Volumetric
• Tanker
• Skip Loader
• 4×4 Utility Vehicle
Since these vehicles are commonly used in construction projects in the UK, it’s important to ensure that drivers are competent to improve standards. This can also be a factor in meeting driver competency requirements during procurement.
MinTrain director Mark Cowan explained: “After recently becoming a CLOCS Delivery Partner, it was great to hear the news of SVCA reapproval and demonstrates our commitment to support CLOCS.
