Command Alkon, which provides provides a supplier collaboration platform for heavy construction and quarrying work, has bought fellow US company Libra Systems.
Harleysville, Pennsylvania-based Libra Systems provides plant automation, scale ticketing, and business integration solutions for the aggregate, asphalt, and concrete industries. The company will now become a wholly owned subsidiary of Command Alkon.
The companies say that joining forces will drive the value they provide to the heavy work industry. Terms of the transaction were not published.
“This joining between Command Alkon and Libra Systems will add more scope to the array of products and services available to asphalt, aggregate, and concrete producers worldwide,” said David Cardy, CEO at Libra Systems.
Phil Ramsey, CEO of Command Alkon, commented: “Libra Systems and Command Alkon have nearly 100 years combined expertise in the heavy work industry. We’re excited to combine our two companies’ approaches to make it simple for customers to take advantage of the cost-savings and maximised production and delivery operations that our solutions deliver across the construction materials supply chain.”
In October, Command Alkon entered into a definitive agreement with Trimble to acquire the latter’s construction logistics business.
