Organisers of the recently held 17th edition of CTT Moscow have revealed that 21,000 people for 59 countries attended the international showcase for construction equipment and technology. Organisers of the recently held 17th edition of CTT Moscow have revealed that 21,000 people for 59 countries attended the international showcase for construction equipment and technology.

The numbers attending the 31 May-4 June 2016 exhibition at the Russian capital’s IEC Crocus Expo site confirmed that CTT is the fifth best attended exhibition globally in the construction equipment sector.

This year’s event is said to have highlighted the long-term cooperation between CTT and one of the world’s leaders in the trade fair industry, Messe München.

“Messe München is the organiser of the international bauma network with shows in Germany and China, and joint ventures in India and South Africa,” said Klaus Dittrich, CEO of Messe München. “This will enable CTT to be integrated into the global construction industry community and expand the quality and quantity of exhibitors and visitors.”

After Russia, the top five countries of origin among the visitors were Belarus, China, Germany, Italy and Kazakhstan. As a key event for the professional community of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which this year occupied 65,000m², CTT offers participants and visitors the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations in the industry, meet with government representatives during the business program, discuss the latest trends and share future plans.

In 2016, the show once again brought together 524 companies from Russia, as well as 25 countries from the CIS and further afield.

“Summing up the results of this yearʼs CTT, I can say with confidence that in spite of the difficult economic situation in Russia, this exhibition has brought us good results. Last year, the percentage of people interested in cooperation was 50% of all contacts, while the figure this year has risen to 80%. This year at our booth we could also see positive dynamics from regional companies, which reflects a growing interest in new construction technologies, not only in the central part of Russia,” said Ekaterina Makarova, marketing manager of GEDA RUS.

Mikhail Goncharov, Putzmeister-Rus marketing director, added: “The flow of visitors exceeded our forecast.”

Leading international associations and agencies have been long-term supporters of CTT. Among them are CECE (Committee for European Construction Equipment), AEM (Association of Equipment Manufacturers), CMEC (China Machinery Engineering Corporation), CCMA (China Construction Machinery Association) and KOCEMA (South Korean Sales Office for Construction Engineering). The CTT is also officially supported by the Russian State Duma Committee on Land Relations and Construction, the Ministry of Construction Industry, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Builders (RCC), the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee for Business Activities in the field of Construction, the Moscow City Department of Urban Policy and the Moscow Region Government.

The next CTT will take place at IEC Crocus Expo, Moscow from 30 May to 3 June 2017.
